It's No Fun Being Sick.

Our family has been visited by a stomach virus.
It's arrival was/is unpleasant, but there are 3 good things I've come to see.

#1 It only stays around for about 24 hrs.
#2 It only visits one person at a time.
#3 It's visiting during the break between semesters.

It has been a learning time as parents too. I felt so helpless when Blake was throwing up. He would look at me with those beautiful eyes full of tears and that pleading look that says "Mommy, make it stop hurting." Dustin was a wonderful Daddy and slept in his room with him on a mattress on the floor.

I'd had it a week previous, but now Dustin is ill. Somehow, with his superhuman powers, he's managed not to throw up, but is miserable nonetheless.

We'll all pull through, and we'll have learned a great lesson: not to take health for granted!

Snow, Snow, Snow!

So this is the view from out our back window.

This is the grill on our back porch. The one above was taken on Friday, Dec. 19th (about 8 inches I think). The one below was taken Monday, Dec. 22nd (about +14 inches).

This chair is also on the porch. Above: taken on Fri. Below: taken on Mon. The planter in the picture on the right is about 14 inches tall, and the little mound to the right of that is a planter that is now completely covered.

I know this is kind of late, but these pictures are too great not to pass up. Kierstin made both of the outfits herself and did a wonderful job. I was not at the party because I was in Indianapolis at a dental school interview. Blake won the best baby constume and we got like $20 in baskin robins coupons. Sweet deal!

We're having a BOY!

Well, since the vote was so incredibly popular, we thought that we would just break the news and cut the suspense... its a BOY! It was pretty quick to find out, but some of the shots were hard to get. He wasn't very active, so we didn't get a profile picture. He was just hiding his face. That's alright, but the radiology tech was actually really getting frustrated! It was kind of funny:) They only gave us three pictures out of the 40+ that they took. Kind of disappointed in that, but oh well.

Dental School here we come... kinda.

Well, we got in! There are a hundred people to thank: my family, Dustin's family, all our friends, the admissions committees, Dustin himself, and of course our Father in Heaven. This is really where we should be, because He got us there.

Now come the big decisions. Exactly where to go. We got accepted to the University of Indiana, and are on the "next to be contacted list" for the University of Louisville. We want to go to Louisville, but don't know if an acceptance will be offered before we have to tell Indiana 'yes' or 'no'.

Once we've accepted a school, then where do we live? How will we get there? How will we afford everything? When will we move? and other such weighted questions fill my mind.

For now, I'm just grateful for the faith-building experiences I've had while preparing to get to this point. That stronger faith is what helps me get through each question-filled day.

I totally don't know what I'm doing....

So this is the test run I guess.... I've been meaning to start one of these for a long time, but wasn't sure how, (and still don't know what it'll end up like). So be patient while I learn. Thanks
